About the breeder:

Growing up in the Hudson valley, where the black dirt is some of the most fertile soil in the world it is only natural to put some seeds in the ground.

my journey into cannabis started in the early 1990s when i was assigned an essay in English class in 7th grade on the topic '“Marijuana”. I only knew that this was a plant with a bad reputation. So I went to the library to take out a book on the subject and the first book i came across was, “The Marijuana Growers guide” by Mel Frank and Ed Rosenthal. I went ahead and wrote my essay on how to grow Marijuana and why it should be legal. it was the first time i received an A+ grade on anything.

later that year i found my older brothers stash. back then it was full of seeds, so being curios i took some seeds and planted them in the back yard. They grew well on a south facing slope in the appellation mountains. Fast forward to September of that year back to school and my older brother was just assigned a camera from his high school photography class, a pentex k1000 35mm film camera. this is where this journey really begins. i took his camera out into the garden not really knowing what i was doing but i couldn’t resist. the flowers where so beautiful. I put the camera back and a few months later. my brother showed up with the photos and and put them down on my desk and talked about how awesome the photos where. rarely did he ever tell me i did anything good. it was this moment that i knew i wanted to grow cannabis and do something with photography.

in the late 90s i took a trip through Europe by myself, picking up new varieties of seeds from Germany and Amsterdam, and having grown up close to new york city, i had already started a seed collection from different varieties coming out of Washington square park. It was around this same time that i worked as a swiming pool service guy in the tristate area of new york, new jersey and connecticute and my main job was to sit in the passenger seat of the company van and pick all the seeds out of the bosses weed and make sure the bowl was packed at all times. We would accumulate something like a gallon size freezer bag full of seeds and in the springtime when we started oppening pools, we would plant seeds all over the place near customers pool equpment and throwing seeds out the window near construction sigtes where the soil was tuned up. we would go back during closing season and find all of the plants. it was amazing.

A few years later I brought my seed collection to Syracuse New York where I first started experimenting with crossing some of my New York varieties with that European fire. this soon became one of my favorite hobbies and it was all for my own personal use and a few friends. lots of trial and error.

This went on for years, mostly outside on public land and in my own garden, until 2018 when I brought the breeding projects inside. there was talk of cannabis legalization in New York but we didn’t know when it would happen we just knew it was going to happen at some point soon. so i got to work trying to create more stable versions of some of my favorite varieties. Two years later weed is legalized in New York and pop up farmers markets spring up all over where we where able to grow out our varieties and put out the final product next to the seeds on the table. People could see and smell what they could expect from these seeds and that’s when I realized that we had something great.

In 2020 the pandemic hit and people where stuck inside with no jobs and a lot of time. Lots of people started coming to me for seeds and advice on how to grow the way I grow.

Its been a pretty amazing journey so far and we are looking forward to creating more new varieties as well as preserving some land-race varieties.
